Summary: | Eazy Express, a company based in Sault Ste. Marie, holds the subcontract on the mail route in Eastview, a few kilometres east of Kingston. Eazy Express beat other tenders when the contract came up for review, and took over the route last Monday. [Ted Brooks] said he serves 3,500 addresses on five rural routes in Kingston. Sorting and delivering mail, he said, requires a high number of very simple movements. Until staff can make those movements automatically, he said, delivery will take a little longer. Slow mail delivery might not be Brooks' problem alone. [Guy Wilson] and [Vince Cox] both said the mail service has been poor for a couple of weeks, and Eazy Express only started Monday. |
