Summary:The C-STEM Center, in collaboration with our industry partners, has developed innovativeeducational computing and robotics technologies for K-14 hands-on learning. By working with K-14 educators, the C-STEM Center integrates computer programming and robotics into teachingSTEM subjects by creating project-based computing and robotics activities, integratedcurriculum, and hands-on personalized and collaborative learning strategies aligned withCommon Core State Standards and CTE Standards. This integration helps students makemeaningful connections between regular STEM topics and their relevance to real-lifeapplications as well as help develop students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills. TheCenter focuses on Algebra topics, the gatekeeper for STEM disciplines, to help close theachievement gap, engage traditionally unrepresented groups and at-risk students in learningSTEM subjects while preparing all students to be career and college ready. The C-STEM middleschool curricula include Math 7 with Computing, Math 8 with Computing, ComputerProgramming with Ch, and Exploring Robotics and Film Production. The C-STEM high schoolcurricula include Algebra I with Computing, Integrated Math I with Computing, ComputerProgramming for Solving Applied Problems, Robotic Technology, and SupplementaryComputer-Aided Design and 3D Printing Curriculum. These curricula have been implementedand tested in more than 30 schools in the greater Sacramento area with different school settingsand demographic
