| Summary: | The antibody-mix sandwich enzyme-linkedimmunosorbent assay (Ab-mix sELISA) system was developedin order to simultaneously detect the extracellular polysaccharide(EPS) of Aspergillus, Penicillium, or Fusarium species usingone detection system. The detection limit and detection rangeof the Ab-mix sELISA towards EPS of Penicilliun citrinumwere not changed, and those towards Fusarium moniliformeEPS were changed a little compared to that of individualsandwich ELISA [9, 10]. The fungal culture filtrates ofAspergillus and Penicillium species showed nearly similarreactivity towards Ab-mix sELISA as that of sELISA usingthe MAb 1G11 alone [9]. Also, the fungal culture filtrates ofFusarium species showed nearly the same reactivity towardsAb-mix sELISA as that of sELISA using the MAb 1B8 alone[10]. Thus, this ELISA system showed that the three generaof molds, Aspergillus, Penicillium, or Fusarium, which arethree major important molds producing mycotoxins in food oragricultural commodities, could be detected at the same time, using one detection system.
