경계선 지능 아동을 위한 사회적 협동조합 설립 경험에 관한 연구

경계선 지능 아동은 기존의 교육현장에서 충분한 지원을 받지 못하며, 이에 따라 자립과 사회적 통합의 어려움을 겪고 있다. 서구 사회에서는 사회적 협동조합을 활용하여 경계선 지능인의 자립을 지원하는 다양한 모델이 운영되고 있으나, 국내에서는 이에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있음에도 불구하고 성공적인 사례가 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구는 경계선 지능 아동을 위한 사회적 협동조합의 설립 및 운영 경험을 심층적으로 탐색하고자 하였으며, 단일 사례를 중심으로 심층 자료를 수집·분석하는 질적 사례연구 방법을 활용하였다. 연구 참여자는 경계선 지능 자녀를 둔 부모이자, 국내 최초로 경계선 지능 아동을 위한 사회적 협동조합을 설립하고 운영해 온 당사자를 중심으로 심층 인터뷰를 진행하였으며, 반복적 비교분석법으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 참여자는 일반학급과 특수학급 사이의 경계에 놓인 부모로서의 경험을 하였으며, 학습공동체를 형성하여 성장 과정의 한계를 파악할 수 있었다. 협동조합 운영 과정에서는 (1)‘함께 성장하기’, (2) ‘서로 믿어주기’, (3) ‘긍정적 부담감’이라는 키워드가 도출되었다. 본 연구는 경계선 지능 아동의 자립을 지원하기 위한 사회적 협동조합 모델의 가능성을 탐색하고 성공적인 운영을 위한 실천적 시사점을 제시하였다. 이를 통해 국내에서 더 안정적이고 지속 가능한 사회적 협동조합 운영 기반을 마련하는 데 기여하고자 한다. Children with borderline intellectual functioning do not receive sufficient support in the existing educational field, and accordingly, they are experiencing difficulties in self-reliance and social integration. In Western society, various models are being operated to support the independence of borderline intellectual functioning by using social cooperatives, but in Korea, despite the increasing interest in this, successful cases are lacking. This study attempted to explore in-depth the experience of establishing and operating social cooperatives for children with borderline intellectual functioning, and used a qualitative case study method that collects and analyzes in-depth data centering on a single case. Participants in the study conducted in-depth interviews centered on parents with children with borderline intellectual functioning and the first in Korea to establish and operate a social cooperative for borderline intelligence children, and analyzed them by repeated comparative analysis. As a result of the study, the participants experienced the experience of being parents at the boundary between general and special classes, and they were able to identify the limitations of the growth process by forming a learning community. In the course of cooperative operation, keywords such as (1) 'growth together', (2) 'trusting each other', and (3) 'positive burden' were derived. This study explored the possibility of a social cooperative model to support the independence of children with borderline intellectual functioning and presented practical implications for successful operation. Through this, we intend to contribute to laying the foundation for a more stable and sustainable operation of social cooperatives in Korea. KCI Citation Count: 0
