영화 <꿈의 제인> 미장센에 나타난 주황과 파랑의 의미작용과 내러티브 수행기능 분석

영화 속 색채는 시간의 흐름과 공간의 변화를 암시하는 은유적 기능을 하며, 추상적인 개념을 구체화하는 시각 언어로서 내러티브 전략의 중요한 요소로 작용한다. 본 논문은 영화 색채로서 주황과 파랑이 지닌 상징적 의미와 감성 효과를 연구하고, 이들의 내러티브 수행기능을 탐구한다. 이를 위해 첫째, 주황과 파랑의 의미와 상징성에 관한 선행연구와 이를 활용한 다양한 영화 사례를 고찰한다. 둘째, <꿈의 제인>의 내러티브 구조와 중심 장면의 미장센 색상 데이터를 분석하여 현실과 꿈의 이분법적 구분과 주황과 파랑의 색채 활용 양상을 연구한다. 마지막으로, 작품 속 현실과 꿈에 관한 논의를 바탕으로 시공간적 변화와 감성 색채 간의 상호작용을 분석하고, 현실과 꿈을 은유하는 색채 이미지의 영화적 역할을 탐구한다. 본 논문은 영화 속 주황과 파랑의 색채 이미지를 둘러싼 맥락적 의미를 조명함으로써, 영화 색채 연구에 새로운 시각을 제시하는 데 의의를 둔다. Color in film functions as a metaphorical tool that signifies the passage of time and changes in space, concretizing abstract concepts as a visual language and serving as a critical element in narrative strategy. In this paper, the symbolic meanings and emotional effects of orange and blue as cinematic colors are explored, and their narrative functions are examined. To this end, first, previous studies on the meanings and symbolism of orange and blue, as well as their applications in various film examples, are reviewed. Second, the narrative structure and the color data of the central scene mise-en-scène of are analyzed to explore the dichotomous distinction between reality and dream, along with the use of orange and blue. Finally, based on the discussion of reality and dream in the film, the interaction between spatiotemporal changes and emotional colors is examined, and the cinematic role of color imagery as a metaphor for reality and dream is analyzed. The significance of this paper lies in providing a new perspective on the study of color in cinema by examining the contextual meaning surrounding the color images of orange and blue in film.
