Summary:The regional nutrient management system that manages excess nutrients (nitrogen and phosphorus) of agricultural land is in the process of introducing in Korea. In this study, agricultural nutrient balance indicators (GNB; Gross nutrient balance, and NNB; Net nutrient balance) were compared and analyzed by the nutrient balance analytical methodologies of land and soil budget in order to assess regional nutrient balance for nitrogen and phosphorus. The average GNB-N and NNB-N of the provincial level (si and do), which were analyzed by land budget, were 358 and 180 kg-N ha-1, and the GNB-P and NNB-P that were analyzed by land budget showed a same value of 55 kg-P ha-1. The average GNB-N and NNB-N that were analyzed by soil budget were 220 and 180 kg-N ha-1, and the GNB-P and NNB-P showed a same value of 35 kg-P ha-1. Therefore, the higher GNB-N value was gained in the methodology of land budget, and NNB-N did not show the significant difference between the methodology of land and soil budget. However, GNB-P and NNB-P showed the higher values in the both of methodologies of land and soil budget. KCI Citation Count: 1
