Summary:Taking the residual sludge from wastewater treatment plant of China University of Mining and Technology as research object, through activating machenism experiments, study the growth of Eisenia foetida and the impact on bioavailability of heavy metals by Eisenia foetida. The results showed that the Eisenia foetida could grow normally in the sludge to a certain concentration of Pb, Cd , had good tolerance and different activating effectson heavy metals. When concentration of Pb was 400mg/kg, the increment of activation rate was a maximum, the added value was 19.93mg/kg; due to the toxicity of Cd, the effects on activation rate was little .
