DOA estimation for correlated signals based on novel logarithm spiral array

A novel two dimensional logarithm spiral array (LSA) is chosen as the antenna manifold. A 1-D direction of arrival (DOA) estimation method for corelated signals based on the LSA is presented in this paper. Summary:A novel two dimensional logarithm spiral array (LSA) is chosen as the antenna manifold. A 1-D direction of arrival (DOA) estimation method for corelated signals based on the LSA is presented in this paper. The basic idea of the proposed DOA estimation method is to transform the LSA into the virtual uniform linear array through virtual interpolation and then rebuild the signal covariance matrix of the virtual uniform linear array with the spatial smoothing method (SSM). Simulation results illustrating the performance of this method in conjunction with MUSIC are included.
