Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medicament useful for the prevention of painful peripheral neuropathy in patients suffering from type 2 diabetes.SOLUTION: The use of acetyl L-carnitine, or of one of its pharmaceutically acceptable salts, is described for the preparation of a medicament useful for the prevention of painful peripheral neuropathy in patients suffering from type 2 diabetes. The symptoms are selected from the group consisting of pain, paresthesia and hyperesthesia. The acetyl L-carnitine is administered orally at a dose of at least 3 g/day. 【課題】2型糖尿病を患う患者における有痛性末梢神経障害の予防に有用な医薬の提供。【解決手段】2型糖尿病を患う患者における有痛性末梢神経障害の予防に有用な医薬の調製のためのアセチルＬ−カルニチン、またはその医薬上許容される塩の一つの使用が記載され、ここで該症候は、疼痛、知覚異常および知覚過敏からなる群から選択され、ここでアセチルＬ−カルニチンは、少なくとも3g/日の用量で経口投与される。【選択図】なし
