PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quality control method and a quality control system for tailored blanks capable of establishing consistent quality control of tailored blanks by coordinating producers and customers for the purpose of achieving cooperation as to product quality information even after specialization. SOLUTION: The quality control method for tailored blanks includes, in a process for welding steel plates for shipping as tailored blanks to a customer, an identification mark creation step for creating identification marks at the completion of the welding to associate information about the materials of the tailored blanks with welding information; an identification mark recording step for recording the created identification marks on the tailored blanks in a nonvolatile condition using a laser marking means; and a defect investigation step for investigating, in the event of a defect in the tailored blanks after a press working/manufacturing process at the customer, the cause of the defect in the range from the welding to the press working/manufacturing process according to the identification marks recorded on the tailored blanks.
