The present invention relates to a device, system and method for generating information on recovery of a subject. The information on recovery is generated by determining from the obtained one or more physiological signals and/or the obtained actual exercise data if the subject is in an exercise state in which the subject performs an exercise or in a sleep state in which the subject is sleeping, determining, from the one or more physiological signals and/or the one or more actual exercise data measured during a sleep state and the obtained subject-related information, an actual sleep architecture of the subject, estimating, from the one or more physiological signals and/or the one or more actual exercise data measured during an exercise state and the obtained subject-related information, an estimated sleep architecture of the subject, and determining first recovery information on the subject's recovery based on a comparison of the actual sleep architecture and the estimated sleep architecture.
