Summary:A tumor treatment field (TTField) can be delivered to the body of a subject at a higher field strength by disconnecting one or more overheated electrode elements without disconnecting other non-overheated electrode elements. This may be accomplished using a plurality of temperature sensors, each positioned to sense a temperature at a respective electrode element, and a plurality of electrically controlled switches, each wired to switch on or off current to a separate electrode element.
