The screening method comprises the following steps: culturing a sample strain by using a specific improved culture medium to obtain a bacterial colony; preliminarily determining strain types according to colonial morphology and cellular morphology; measuring the growth metabolism flavor of the bacterial colony by using a specific liquid culture solution; determining the fermentation performance of the bacterial colony by using a pure fresh milk culture medium; and performing species identification on the bacterial colony of which the growth metabolism flavor and the fermentation performance conform to those of the traditional fermented dairy product strain to obtain the traditional fermented dairy product strain.
