| Summary: | The invention provides application of a verticillium dahliae acetolactate synthase (AHAS) catalytic subunit gene VdILV2B, and belongs to the technical field of functional genes. A knockout mutant delta VdILV2B and a complementary mutant are taken as experimental subjects, the effect of the VdILV2B is correspondingly analyzed from the aspects of growth and development and pathogenicity, results show that the growth speed of a delta VdILV2B bacterial colony is increased, and more aerial hyphae are generated; the yield of microsclerotia is obviously reduced; the sporulation quantity is obviously reduced; the pathogenicity is obviously reduced; and VdILV2B is further an essential gene for synthesis of branched chain amino acid, and VdILV2B participates in synthesis of bright group acid. In view of the fact that AHAS is an action target of a herbicide, VdILV2B can be applied to prevention and treatment of cotton verticillium wilt.
