The present invention discloses a method for catalytic conversion of xylose into furfural by use of a montmorillonite-supported metal ion solid acid, and belongs to the technical field of solid acid catalyst. The method comprises the following steps: preparing a solid acid catalyst by a coprecipitation method; adding the metal-ion-supported solid acid catalyst into a reaction kettle for catalytic conversion of xylose to furfural; after the completion of the reaction, cooling, filtering by suction, and separating a reaction solution and the catalyst.
