The invention provides a POS system and a management method for a POS system. In the system, the monitoring unit of each POS terminal obtains operation parameters of itself, an application of itself and a peripheral device; a data sending unit of each POS terminal sends the operation parameters to a server; a data receiving unit of the server receives the operation parameters sent by the POS terminal; a data analysis unit of the server, based on the operation parameters, analyzes whether the operation states of the POS terminal itself, the application of itself and the peripheral device are abnormal; a control unit of the server emits an operation instruction to a POS terminal with an abnormal operation state; and an execution unit of each POS terminal receives and controls the POS terminal itself, the application of itself and the peripheral device to execute the operation instruction. According to the invention, the POS terminal and the mode of executing control by the POS terminal are controlled through the server, multiple terminals in the POS system are managed in a unified mode, low-cost and high-efficiency POS terminal operation management is realized, and the maintenance intensity and the maintenance cost of an operation department are reduced.
