The invention discloses a plug seedling matrix and application thereof. The plug seedling matrix is formed by mixing edible mushroom residual fertilizer, turf and vermiculite. The preparation method of the edible mushroom residual fertilizer comprises the steps of mixing edible mushroom residuals with agricultural waste to obtain a mixture; and composting the mixture to obtain a composting product, i.e. the fertilizer. The edible mushroom residual is taken as a fertilizer source of the seedling matrix and is mixed with the turf, the vermiculite and the like according to different proportions to develop the manual matrix which is suitable for plant plug seedling. The matrix improves the growth index of tomato seedlings, is more beneficial to the growth of the seedlings, and has economic benefits. Meanwhile, some turf is replaced by the matrix, the problem of shortage of turf resource quantity is solved, and the production waste edible mushroom residual is effectively taken as the fertilizer source for reuse, s
