Summary:Objective To observe the effect of cupping therapy with Chinese herbal decoction in the treatment of extremity dysfunction among patients with wind-phlegm obstruction type stroke. Methods Totally 90 patients with wind-phlegm obstruction type stroke were randomly divided into the control group and observation group, with 45 cases in each group. All patients received routine treatment and nursing, and those in the observation group were given cupping therapy with Chinese herbal decoction in treating extremity dysfunction. The intervention effect was evaluated by Traditional Chinese Medicine symptom integral. Scores of NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Fugl-Meyer Assessment(FMA)and Barthel Index (BI) were compared between two groups. Results The overall response rate in the observation group was 97. 78%(44/45), which was higher than 80. 00%(36/45) in the control group (P<0. 01).
