Summary:Background: infertility is a subject on which attention is growing, especially in developed societies, due to the increase in people who suffer from this condition and the extraordinary technical advances in recent decades in the field of assisted reproduction. Objective: to devise a predictive model of female infertility from the risk factors identified in patients of the province of Camagüey. Methods: an analytical case-control study was carried out in a sample of 600 women aged 20 years or over, 300 with a diagnosis of infertility (cases) and 300 fertile women (controls), treated at the department of assisted reproduction of the “Ana Betancourt de Mora” Provincial Gyneco-Obstetric Teaching Hospital of Camagüey, from January 2019 through December 2020. The medical record was used as a source to obtain the data. For the analysis, the following techniques were used: chi-square, logistic regression analysis and ROC curve. Results: the variables with a significant statistical association were: age between 30 and 39 years, smoking, increased body weight, presence of pelvic inflammatory disease, history of sexually transmitted infection, use of an intrauterine device and ectopic pregnancy. Greater predictive capacity for infertility showed: pelvic inflammatory disease, history of sexually transmitted infection and ectopic pregnancy, and increased body weight. Conclusions: a model was devised that showed good capacity to predict female infertility.
