Summary:The aim of the study is to terminologically describe the genealogical aspects of litany (originally a Christian prayer genre) and subsequent literary litanies inspired by them (Ch. Baudelaire, A. Breton, V. Nezval, F. Halas, A. Ginsberg). Reading the texts of modern world lyric poetry shows that the litanic-repetitive form is richly developed in various poetic works from representatives of the canon of poetry of the last centuries and that it is able to offer a convincing account of man of our time and the civilization transformations.
