Summary:Sharing photos online has become an extremely popular activity, raising a wide concern on privacy issues related to the shared content. ProShare, a photo-sharing solution developed by Multimedia Signal Processing Group of EPFL addresses some of these privacy issues by relying on a trusted third party. Recently, distributed ledger technologies in general and blockchain, in particular, have been used to provide trust and censorship resistance in a decentralized manner. This paper proposes the use of blockchain technology to remove the need for a trusted third-party in the sharing process introduced by ProShare.
