Summary:This paper presents Conquest, a game platform in the class of trans-reality games in pervasive gaming that combines old classical outdoor games that have been introduced in computer games with the possibilities of today’s technology to enhance outdoor based games. The proposed platform use Near Field Communication (NFC), location-awareness with Global Positioning System (GPS) and mobile communication to support three game types that are similar and share a common foundation in the context of sensors and user interaction. Finally, we present a prototype with the usage of the Actor model to efficiently map each physical CPU-powered device to a virtual actor in the back-end.
