Summary: | The subject of the studying deals with the inhibition of corrosion of mild steel alloy using the Cresol red dye at different concentrations (0-200) ppm in (1M) a sulfuric acid solution with a temperature range (303-323) K using a potentiostat device. Experimental results obtained with anode and cathode curves (βa, βc) , corrosion current density (Icorr), corrosion potential (Ecorr), and efficiency inhibition ratio (E%) were discussed. was studied The leverage of temperature and concentration on inhibition efficiency. The efficiency inhibition raise with rising temperature and inhibitor concentration, and the results obtained showed that the dye used as an inhibitor is effective and a good corrosion inhibitor in mild steel alloy under the experimental conditions used where the highest inhibition efficiency was 85.30% at a concentration of 200ppm at 323K temperature . were also studied and discussed The adsorption isotherms of the dye used as an inhibitor, It was found to follow the Langmuir equation, were elaborate the thermodynamic functions of the adsorption operation (ΔSads, ΔHads, ΔGads). |
