한국에 도래하는 큰재개구마리의 형태학적 분류

국내에 도래하는 큰재개구마리(Lanius excubitor) 아종의 실체를 파악하기 위해 박물관 및 연구소에 소장된 표본을 조사하였다. 한국, 일본, 중국에 소장되어 있는 큰재개구마리 표본을 대상으로 몸 윗면의 색, 몸 아랫면의 비늘무늬, 첫째날개깃의 흰색 반점 크기, 허리와 윗꼬리덮깃의색깔, 꼬리깃의 무늬, 측정자료 등을 분석한 결과 한국에서 채집된 아종은 L. e. mollis와 L. e. bianchii로 나타났다. 큰재개구마리의 국내 최초 기록은 1967년 11월 26일 경기도 남양주시 진접에서 채집된 어린 개체(L. e. bianchii)로 보고되었으나, 표본에 대한 재조사 결과 이 개체는 L. e. mollis로 확인되었다. 또 이보다 7년 앞선 1960년 12월 경기도 포천에서 채집된 표본(L. e. mollis, 한남대학교 자연사박물관 소장)이 있는 것을 확인하였다. 한국에서 채집한 아종 L. e. bianchii의유일한 표본은 1978년 11월 23일 경기도 파주에서 채집된 표본으로서, 현재 이화여대자연사박물관에 소장되어 있다. 따라서 한국에서 채집된 5점의 표본 중 4점은 L. e. mollis이었으며 나머지1점은 L. e. bianchii로 확인되었다. 비록 아종 L. e. mollis는 아직까지 국내에 공식적으로 보고되지 않은 아종이지만, 겨울철 희귀하게 도래하는 큰재개구마리는 대부분 L. e. mollis일 가능성이높은 것으로 판단된다. Morphological differences among subspecies of the Great Grey Shrike (Lanius excubitor) were examined at natural history museums and institutes in Korea, Japan and China. We examined color of upperparts, scaly marks on underparts, white wing-patch on primaries, color of rump and uppertail coverts, black-and-white patterns of outer rectrices and measurements data. As a result, we recognized that two subspecies, the L. e. mollis and L. e. bianchii, were occurred in Korea. The first record of the shrike in Korea was an immature L. e. bianchii collected at Yangju, Gyeonggi Province on 26 November 1967. However, we confirmed that it was not the L. e. bianchii, but the L. e. mollis regarding its morphological characteristics. Furthermore, it was not the first record because we found an unreported specimen of the L. e. mollis collected at Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province on December 1960 from collections of the Hannam University Museum. The first specimen of the L. e. bianchii in Korea is a collection of the Natural History Museum of Ewha Womans University. The specimen was collected at Paju, Gyeonggi Province on 23 November 1978, but this has not been reported either. Consequently, a total of five Great Grey Shrikes was collected in Korea; four were L. e. mollis and the other one was L. e. bianchii. This result strongly suggests that the Great Grey Shrike in Korea is probably a very rare vagrant in winter and that most of them are L. e. mollis rather than L. e. bianchii. KCI Citation Count: 0
