Summary:The purpose of this study is to examine how young people in their 20s perceive their own age group in dramas and explore how linguistic and audiovisual elements of the drama affect the process of understanding and accepting their parents' generation. Data were collected through questionnaires from 80 students at H University and I University between April 10 and June 10, 2024. The SPSS analysis revealed that: 1) there was a weak positive correlation between the frequency of drama viewing and changes in perceptions of the parental generation; 2) the drama facilitated emotional connections between young people in their 20s and their parents, positively impacting their understanding of the values and lifestyles of the parental generation; 3) these perceptual changes were closely related to linguistic and audiovisual elements of the drama. These results suggest that the drama has potential as a tool for enhancing intergenerational understanding and communication. Additionally, specific strategies for using drama to facilitate intergenerational communication are proposed as directions for future research. KCI Citation Count: 0
