Summary:The domestic automobile industry, in its endeavor to fulfill the requirements of overseas Origi- nal Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), has formed a network of global research centers. These centers, however, encounter challenges in upholding uniform design specifications and quality control, primarily due to disparate design proficiencies among institutes. This paper introduces a novel approach to design automation, focusing on the utilization of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) templates and libraries, with a special emphasis on suspension systems, an integral aspect of automobile engineering. The method involves the development of a CATIA part tem- plate, which is derived from a comprehensive analysis of suspension shape characteristics. Com- plementing this is the establishment of a versatile parts library using JSON. Furthermore, an assembly template has been designed to simplify the process of part assembly. This study cul- minates in a thorough design automation process, transformed into a program using the VB.NET programming language. This strategy not only harmonizes design processes across global research institutes but also enhances the management of design specifications. The imple- mentation of this methodology signifies a notable advancement in standardizing design prac- tices and improving quality standards in the international automobile industry.
