Summary:Spatial information is a promising industry fostered by national legislation and policy support. For effective policy promotion, effective R&D management through R&D program status analysis should be accorded greater importance. This paper analyzed the status of national R&D programs related to spatial information using NTIS’ national R&D information on 16,525 businesses promoted during 2009-2018. The information confirmed a quantitative growth trend. For the various programs promoted, the Ministry of Education, Ministry of SMEs, and Venture Department provided more program support than the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. The positive aspect of the national strategic technology is its paradigm shift from ICT-based technology to spatial information convergence. This study is meaningful in that research on the current status analysis of R&D programs in the field of spatial information is insufficient. KCI Citation Count: 3
