메타버스 활용 교육에 대한 대학 교수자 인식 연구

본 연구는 메타버스 기반 교육에 대한 대학 교수자의 인식과 요구사항을 종합적으로 분석하고 이를 통해 메타버스의 교육적 적용 가능성을 탐색하는데 궁극적인 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 혼합연구 방법을 활용하여 대학 교수자들의 대학 교육에서 메타버스에 대한 인식, 메타버스 활용 수업을 위한 지원 및 제도, 메타버스 활용 수업 설계에 대하여 탐색하였다. 연구 결과, 메타버스를 학습자 중심활동 수업에서 수업내용 및 학습활동의 보조적 전달 도구로 활용되는 것이 적절하다고 인식하고 있었으며, 메타버스 기반 수업을 고등교육 현장에서 실행하기 위해서는 학교 차원에서 메타버스 수업을 위한 교수·학습방법 관련된 교육 및 정보 제공을 비롯하여 수업환경 구축에 대한 제도 및 지원이 필요하다고 응답하였다. 본 연구는 고등교육 현장에 메타버스 적용 가능성을 비롯하여 고등교육에서 메타버스에 대한 실천방안과 방향에 대한 시사점을 찾아냈다는 점에서 의의가 있다. The purpose of this study is to comprehensively analyze the perceptions and requirements of higher education instructors regarding Metaverse-based education and explore its educational applicability. To this end, the study explored the perception of instructors regarding the use of the Metaverse in higher education, the support system for classes using the Metaverse, and instructional design using the Metaverse by using a mixed research method. The study revealed that most of them thought that the Metaverse would be appropriate for use as a complementary delivery tool and student centered learning. In addition, the instructors responded that systems and support for a classroom environment, including curriculum and information related to teaching and learning strategies, were needed at the higher education level. This study has conducted a meaningful exploration of the field applicability of the Metaverse in education through awareness and a demand survey on education using the Metaverse in higher education, finding implications for action plans and directions for its use in higher education.
