수위변동에 따른 오리류의 서식지 선호도에 관한 연구

본 연구는 2007년 9월부터 2009년 2월까지 1년 6개월 동안 충남 공주시를 가로지르는 금강에위치한 소학섬을 중심으로 이루어졌다. 조사는 수면성 오리류(청둥오리 Anas platyrhynchos, 흰뺨검둥오리 Anas poecilorhyncha, 원앙 Aix galericulata, 쇠오리 Anas crecca)와 잠수성 오리류(흰죽지 Aythya ferina, 댕기흰죽지 Aythya fuligula, 흰뺨오리 Bucephala clangula, 비오리 Mergus merganser)를 대상으로 하였다. 2007년 조사지역의 평균수위는 장마와 태풍 등에 의한 급격한 수위변동을 제외하면 1m 이하로 나타났으며, 2008년 6월 이전까지도 평균수위는 1m 이하를 유지하였다. 그러나 2008년 6월 돌보를 쌓은 이후로는 평균수위가 약 3m 정도로 높아졌다. 돌보를 쌓기이전인 2007년 11월의 겨울철 수면성 오리류는 최대 2,059개체였으나 돌보가 완성된 2008년 11월에는 585개체로 개체수가 약 1/4(25%) 감소하였으며, 12월에는 420개체가 관찰되었다. 이러한원인은 2008년 동계에 실시된 공주지역의 수렵허가 등의 원인도 있으나 가장 큰 원인으로는 높아진 수위라 판단된다. 예비조사 기간인 2006년과 2007년 동절기에 월동하는 수면성 오리류의 총 개체수에는 거의 변동이 없었으나, 2008년 돌보를 쌓은 후에는 동절기에 도래하는 수면성 오리류가 급격히 감소하였다. 이는 돌보를 쌓음으로써 높아진 수위가 소학섬 인근의 많은 사구들을 유실시켰고, 또한 수면성 오리류가 휴식을 취하는 강변의 둔치 역시 높아진 수위로 인하여 소실되었기때문으로 생각된다. 이에 반하여 깊은 수심을 선호하는 잠수성 오리류 및 일부 기타 조류들은 증가하는 경향을 관찰할 수 있었다. This study was conducted in the So-hak Island in Gong-ju from September 2007 to February 2009. This area is surrounded by Gum-river passing through Gong-ju. We can expect the change of wintering bird's distribution because of a dam constructed underneath of the Gong-ju bridge. We studied the number of dabbling ducks such as mallard (Anas platyrhynchos), spot-billed duck (Anas poecilorhyncha) and mandarin duck (Aix galericulata). When we check the water level in 2007, it was under 1m deep expect the rainy season and typhonic season. And the average of water level has been maintained lower than 1m until june 2008. However the depth of river became 3m deep in June 2008 after the dam construction. In November 2007, when the dam was not constructed yet, we found 2,059 dabbling ducks. After constructing the dam, the number of ducks were deceased by 75% (585) in November 2008. It can be affected by many different factors, but the main reason is the risen water level. There were little individuals changes in wintering dabbling ducks during 2006 and 2007. After dam construction, we have found rapid decrease of the number of wintering dabbling ducks since 2008. Because the risen river level has destroyed sand dunes around So-hak island and it also has destroyed the water edges where many ducks can take a rest. Contrastively, diving ducks have increased because they prefer deep river. KCI Citation Count: 3
