로컬리티의 연구동향과 인문학 연구의 새로운 방향

‘지금 여기’의 우리는 우리의 존재론적 조건인 ‘시간과 장소’를 포섭해버린 거대한 글로벌 자본의 제국에 직면하여 우리의 로컬의 놀이들, 즉 인간적·사회적 삶은 전면적 위기에 노출되어 있다. 그러므로 현재의 우리는 폭력적인 시장의 지배에 포섭되거나 배제되지 않으면서도 참된 인간적‧사회적 삶의 질을 확보할 수 있는 방법이 무엇인지를 모색해야 하는 상황에 처해 있다. 따라서 필자는 이 글에서 물리적 공간 속에서 살아가는 삶의 주체로서의 인간과 사회에서 과연 인간다운 삶이 무엇인지를 탐색하고자 한다. 이를 위해서 필자는 만일 우리가 로컬(혹은 로컬리티)을 인간존재의 인간적‧사회적 삶 혹은 인간다운 삶을 가능하게 하는 자율적 공간 혹은 장소로 받아들일 수 있다면 로컬, 로컬리티가 갖는 참된 의미는 무엇인지(1), 그리고 그것은 글로벌과 어떤 관계를 맺고 있는지를 고찰할 것이다(2). 그런 후에 로컬리티가 인문학과 관계를 맺어야 하는 이유를 짚을 것이다(3). 그럴 때에만 로컬리티 인문학은 단순히 지역적 공간으로만 응축될 수 없는 인간적‧사회적 삶의 구체적인 실천으로서 가능하다는 것을 확인할 수 있을 것이기 때문이다(4). As we being 'now here' are confronted with the empire of gigantic global capital which wins 'time and place' as our existential condition over its side, Our local plays, as human and social life, are exposed to an extensive crisis. Furthermore, we must be under circumstances that we should seek possible ways to obtain the quality of a genuinely human and social life, neither being under the violent capital market control nor being out of it. In this paper, I will explore what's the real meaning of a human life, in respect of a human being and a society considered as the subjects of the physical space. To do so, first above all, I suggest that If we suppose that we take local or locality as autonomous space or place in which the human and social life as a human being is possible, it is possible for me to examine some practical questions: what is authentic local or locality? ; what are its relations with globalism? Then, I will explain why locality has a relation with humanity study in order that we can affirm the humanity study of locality as a practical study, which isn't limited to only local space but makes the concrete practice of a human and social life possible.
