Summary:This special issue celebrates the 20 years of the ‘Korean Bio- Chip Society’. Over the past 20 years, driven by the passion and dedication of its members, the society has pioneered convergence research in diverse felds, including life sci- ences, biomedical engineering, materials engineering, and nanobiotechnology. It has also grown into a hub for domestic and international academic advancement and industry–aca- demia collaboration. To celebrate its 20th anniversary this year, the society has not only published the special issue and commemora- tive booklet, but also implemented diverse commemorative projects. These meaningful initiatives were made possible by the dedication and passion of the co-chairs, Professors Song Jun-myeong, Jang Seong-su, and Jeong Hyo-il, the commit- tee chairs, and all of our members. We would like to once again express our deepest gratitude and congratulations to the three co-chairs. Furthermore, we would like to acknowl- edge the hard work and dedication of all the members who have supported and guided the society's development over the past 20 years, which have also been the foundation of this achievement. We hope this 20th anniversary special issue will serve as an opportunity to share the society members’ proud achievements with future generations. This special issue is not published as a separate book but is curated as an online collection on the journal website. This special issue con- tains 20 contributions, which are review papers related with current leading-edge technology of biochip selected by the editorial committee. These 20 contributed papers will be published in the following 2 issues in Volume 19 and 4 issues in Volume 20. Looking back on the past 20 years, which we have walked alongside our members, we are confdent that the ‘Korean BioChip Society’ and ‘Biochip Journal’ will continue to grow into a world-class academic society and journal in the coming years, respectively. We really appreciate your con- gratulations and support.
