외안근 마비를 동반한 Guillain-Barre 증후군

급성의 다발성 신경근병증인 Guillain-Barre증후군에서도 비특이적 외안근 마비가 동반되는 경우가 있으며 이는 대부분의 경우 양측 외전신경마비로 시작된다. 또한 Miller-Fisher 증후군과 비슷한 임상 양상을 보이나 운동실조없이 사지의 마비가 동반되는 것이 감별점이다. 저자들은 1주일 전 상기도 감염 후 양안외전장애와 복시를 나타낸 47세 남자에서 사지근력약화에 선행하여 나타난 외안근 마비를 보이는 Guillain-Barre증후군 1예를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다[한안지 39:813~816, 1998]....

Guillain-Barre syndrome, acute inflammatory polyradiculoneuropathy, is sometimes accompanied by a typical ophthalmoplegia, usually with bilateral sixth nerve palsy. It also has a similar clinical appearance with MillerFisher syndrome, but it is differentiated by limb weakness without ataxia. We observed a 47 year old man with acute onset diplopia and bilateral sixth nerve palsy one week after URI symptoms, diagnosed as GuillainBarre syndrome with ophthalmoplegia[J Korean Ophthalmol Soc 39:813~816, 1998].
