Summary:This study aimed to investigate the effect of COVID-19 stress and depression on college adaptation in nursing students. Methods: We employed a descriptive survey and selected third-year nursing students as participants. In March 2022, 184 nursing students from a nursing school in South Korea participated in the survey, which examined COVID-19 stress, depression, and college adaptation. The collected data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. Results: College life adaption was a significant negative correlation with COVID-19 stress (r=−.26, p <001) and depression (r=−.58, p<001). The factors with the most influence on the college adaption were depression (=−0.46, p<.001) and experienced depression (=−0.15, p=.018). The model used in this study explained 40.1% of nursing students' college adaptation during the COVID-19 pandemic (Adjusted R2=40.1, F=18.53, p<.001). Conclusion: Developing and adopting various programs that can reduce depression are necessary to facilitate nursing students' college adaptation. KCI Citation Count: 0
