Summary: | In order to analyze the radioactive 214Pb and 214Bi nuclides that are difficult to analyze in RI waste, a chemical separation procedure for 210Pb, which is in a radioactive equilibrium relationship from 226Ra, was established, and a procedure for determining the radioactivity concentration of 214Pb and 214Bi was established based on the results of measuring 210Pb, which emits beta energy, using LSC. A procedure using UTEVA and Sr resin was established for the chemical separation of 210Pb, and the amount of resin used was calculated to be 3 ㎖ based on the established procedure, and the recovery rates for target element recovery and interference element removal were measured, and both were confirmed to be over 80%. In addition, when the chemically separated 210Pb was measured using LSC, only the target 210Pb spectrum peak appeared, and no peaks of other interference nuclides appeared, indicating that all interference nuclides were removed. In order to analyze 210Pb with LSC, a calibration quenching source was manufactured and the measurement efficiency was calculated. As a result of examining the calculation equation, the R2 value was 0.95 or higher, indicating that the calibration was appropriate. Based on this, the proposed LSC measurement method and chemical separation method were applied to actual media such as plastic, wiper, rubber, and metal samples, and the results were derived to prove their validity.
