Summary:We investigated the clinical efficacy and safety of cefozopran, a new cephem antibiotic, in 6 patients with respiratory tract infections: pneumonia in 2, pulmonary abscess in 1, secondary infection of old pulmonary tuberculosis in 1, infection of bronchiectasis in 1 and diffuse panbronchiolitis in 1. Clinical efficacy was good in 3, fair in 1, poor in 1 and unknown in 1. No side effects were observed. In one case, elevation of GOT was observed.
