Summary:To improve the transcutaneous fluorescent image of an animal body, we derived a point-spread function (PSF) at a cylindrical surface of a turbid medium. For practical applications, a new CT algorithm was developed. In this technique, an orthogonal function system was used to reconstruct tomographic image. The usefulness of the proposed technique was examined in experiment with tissue- simulated phantom. Figure 1 shows the result of tomographic reconstruction. The internal fluorescent objects, which are hardly seen in Fig. 1(a), became visible by the proposed technique. Through this analysis, the applicability of the proposed technique was verified.
