Summary: | Vasovagal reaction (VVR) is the biggest factor of collecting blood side effects, its incidence accounts for 0.5 to 8.0 %. According to our preliminary experiment, the onset mechanism is suggested to be due to venous return decreases during blood collection. This study aims to develop prediction device and detection indicator for the VVR onset based on this mechanism. The subjects who request the whole blood donation are 46 young people (VVR patients: n=6, healthy people: n=40). Finger blood pressure was measured noninvasively and continuously using pressure pulse wave meter (Finometer Model-2). The calculated mean blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure were used as indicators of VVR detection. The optimal threshold for each indicator was decided by measurement data. From the time exceeded threshold to the time of VVR onset was also measured. In the result, the mean blood pressure was a good indicator than diastolic blood pressure. When setting a threshold to 65% of the mean blood pressure of the resting, the VVR detection rate was 100% and erroneous diagnosis rate was 0%. Detection time was before 31 seconds of VVR onset. |
