Summary:Power consumption in a horizontal gas-solid agitated vessel with paddle-blades on double parallel axes was investigated. Experiments were performed for cohesive particles. In this study, a dimensionless parameter defined as the cohesion force divided by the inertial force was introduced to correlate the power consumption. The results show that the dimensionless averaged power consumption is well correlated with the Froude number, the dimensionless height of charged particles and the dimensionless cohesion parameter. Further, it was found that the ratio of maximum torque to averaged torque is given by the same correlation as for cohesionless particles.
