Summary:In order to aim at betterment of health and home economic management of overworking farm workers, we regard it necessary for them to obtain proper guidance in their leisure life, particularly in terms of its necessity, its position, its distribution, its utilization, etc. Accordingly, we made the present report as a clue to their guidance after the investigation and analysis of their leisure life. With particular locations of farmhouses the subject of investigation, we had questionnaires and hour-by-hour time schedules filled in individually. The results obtained are as follows : 1. Farm workers' leisure hours fall far below the average and are mostly occupied with hours of rest; therefore, their skill in and sense of how to enjoy their leisure time is poor. 2. Interrelation between their working hours and leisure hours is high, and the working hours prove to be an important factor in deciding their leisure hours. 3. The women's spare hours created by the spread of modern living goods are allotted to further production, causing a vicious circle of overintensification of their working hours.
