The Report of an Instance of Industry-University Cooperation Application of Online KANSEI Evaluation

Our previous report showed a successful case of industry-university cooperation by applying the academic research method, KANSEI evaluation. However, there were some issues to facilitate the cooperative study, e.g., the labor cost. In this study, we developed the online evaluation system with the goal of reducing the cost and verified the system effectiveness. The online evaluation system was applied to KANSEI evaluation of the renovated esthetic salon. That system could evaluate watching the pictures on the web without visiting esthetic salon. The online evaluation indicated that the score of new salon was improved compared to the old salon and showed a similar tendency to the visiting evaluation. These results suggest that the online KANSEI evaluation using the system could evaluate as well as the visiting evaluation and that the use of the system could be effective to reduce the cost.
