| Summary: | This chapter provides applications in the form of presented and published articles in well-known journals. Clinical treatment of skin lesion is primarily dependent on timely detection and delimitation of lesion boundaries for accurate cancerous region localization. Computer-aided technologies for the diagnostic analysis of medical images have received significant attention from the research community. The chapter examines the accuracy of the proposed technique together with the adoption of the proposed pre-processing method. It delineates and chalks-out the relevant work done on the issue of segmentation of skin lesions. Researchers encounter complications while segmenting skin lesions due to low brightness and the noise present in the images. Normalization is obtained by subtracting the image from its mean value, which is then divided by the standard deviation of the image. |
