2-μm Active DBR Laser for Wide-Tuning-Range CO2 Gas Sensing

We developed a 2-μm active DBR laser for CO 2 gas sensing employing gain SQWs in the tuning sections. It exhibited a double-wide tunability of our conventional laser with <3-dB power penalty. We individually detected three CO 2 absorption lines in a 7-nm range using the laser.
