| Summary: | In this paper, the performance of limited power point tracking (LPPT) control of a single-stage photovoltaic system is investigated. Compared to maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control, the LPPT control provides more flexible operation of a photovoltaic system. The LPPT control has so far been applied only for a dual- stage photovoltaic system. However, the single-stage photovoltaic system can be cheaper alternative of the dual-stage photovoltaic system for the grid connected operation. Although the MPPT control has already been successfully implemented for a single-stage photovoltaic system, the scope of LPPT control for such a case is still to be investigated. Detailed simulation and experimental studies are performed to verify the potentiality of LPPT control in single-stage photovoltaic power conversion. |
