Summary:Large output torque, high fault tolerance, and low torque pulsation are the benefits of the multi-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor over the conventional three-phase model. This work examines the direct torque control in detail using a dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor as the research subject. By including the sliding film control approach, the issues of torque pulsation and magnetic chain in the direct torque control of a dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor are resolved. The mathematical models of sliding mode control-based direct torque control and conventional direct torque control are established using Matlab/Simulink, and the models' simulation outcomes are compared and examined.
