Summary:Renewable energy communities with energy and storage sharing are a subject that has been gaining popularity in the scientific community, not only as a way to reduce the global dependence on fossil fuels but also as a tool to achieve a greater efficiency in the electrical grid. However, one of the main difficulties to the development and implementation of this type of communities is the lack of a plug-and-play device that allows the remote management and monitoring of each community participant. In this way, to address this problem, this paper proposes a new plug-and-play communication module that uses Low-Power Wide Area Networks (LPWANs) technology to facilitate the management and monitoring of renewable energy communities. Thus, it will be possible to promote a large-scale implementation of this type of communities as well as facilitate their study by the scientific community by providing a tool that simplifies the communication between the Market Model backend server and each of the participants in the energy community.
