DSP based BLDC motor controller design with auto tuning PSO-PID algorithm

In this study, particle swarm optimization (PSO) was used to search for the optimal controller gain in a proportional integral derivative (PID) controller for brushless direct current motor (BLDCM) systems. The proposed device uses the easyDSP-F2812 powered by a TI TMS320F2812 digital signal process...

Summary:In this study, particle swarm optimization (PSO) was used to search for the optimal controller gain in a proportional integral derivative (PID) controller for brushless direct current motor (BLDCM) systems. The proposed device uses the easyDSP-F2812 powered by a TI TMS320F2812 digital signal processor (DSP). We also describe how the PSO-PID method was developed. Several experiments results using an easyDSP-F2812 revealed that the time response of the BLDCM system with proposed control method in conjunction with the PSO-PID algorithm is superior to that achieved using the conventional PID algorithm.
