Summary:As the demand for integrated circuits (ICs) continues to escalate, so does the pressure to accelerate time-to-market. ICs have become omnipresent in every aspect of our lives. The evolution of technology nodes has resulted in increased convergence between analog and digital domains. While the digital aspect is subject to automation, the analog component is still primarily executed manually. This paper presents an integration of analog circuit automation tool, the Analog Designer's Toolbox (ADT) which uses the gm/I D methodology, and layout automation tool Machine Generated Analog IC Layout (MAGICAL), with a focus on voltage regulators category. The integration has been implemented and tested on multiple circuits. The given circuit specifications are verified using Cadence Spectre. The integration offers two benefits: a shorter analog circuit design cycle and a quick area estimation that can be completed in just a few seconds or a couple of minutes.
