Summary:Nowadays, Security in communication over Internet has turned out to be complex as technology becomes faster and more efficient rapidly especially for resources limited devices like embedded devices, wireless sensors, RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tags, Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Furthermore, in order to securing the information's during transmission, several cryptography techniques have been well established. Some of them following the conventional path and some of them applied the lightweight techniques. In this paper, a review of the most common and effective cryptography techniques have been illustrated. The presented techniques are based on the conventional path and the lightweight path. This work also compares the benefits and limitations of these potential techniques. Lastly, this work provides a guideline and possible points of encampments for developing improved solution models of defense methods to securing the data during transmission.
