Summary:Clinical Studies were performed on cefixime (CFIX), a new oral cephalosporin. The following results were obtained. 1) CFIX was administered to 11 cases with various respiratory tract infection. The efficacy was excellent in 2 cases, good in 6 cases and fair in 3 cases out of 11 cases. The efficacy rate was 73%. 2) Mild elevation of serum level of GOT·GPT was noted in one case with chronic hepatitis. Otherwise there was no adverse reaction. 3) It was considered that CFIX was effective for respiratory tract infection.
