Summary:This paper analyzes an armed confrontation between two suburb neighborhoods located in La Plata in order to rebuild the senses constructed by the inhabitants in relation to the conflict and the police mega-operation deployed by the government. We will mainly analyze the modes of community organization that enabled, understood as a form of resistance to the violence that occurred there. Our assumption is that the conflict motivated forms of community organization, led by a group of women, which constituted and positioned them as subjects that claim and dispute their right to the city. Finally, we will briefly present the media treatment. Because of the practices of these women, we understand that the right to the city is not a slogan emptied of political content. The challenge is to produce ways to solve problems related to violence, without resorting to repressive responses, but to the wishes and needs of the community, with their participation, to make effective the right to the city. The methodology used was qualitative ethnographic. An ad hoc survey was carried out in the territory and in national and local media. The techniques used were in-depth interview and participant observation. Keywords: Right to the City--Community Organization--Ethnography--Neighborhood-- Violence.
